Australian High Commission Reception for Carlton Football Club
|

|

|
|
The Old Dark Navy Blues have a major sposorship agreement with Tourism Malaysia and a few dignitaries were at a reception at the Australian High Commission in KL. Naturally, the Warriors cogniscenti was well represented.
Also invited were three members of the emerging Warriors U17 team, Mohan, Wy Kean and Fadhil, accompanied by Andy Lee (representing Shane and Mike, his fellow U17 coaches).
The Guests of Honour were the sponsors of Carlton Football Club and a number of the Club's heirarchy.
Stars of the show were Warriors heavyweights (in presence, not girthwise) Paul McCalman and Scott McDonough decked out in the 2009 Carlton strip featuring the logos of Hyundai and Tourism Malaysia, this year's major Sponsors of the Blues.
The U17 boys attracted a lot of attention from the press and members of the gathering: they really enjoyed being seen as part of The Warriors and the leading edge in the development of wider interest and participation in Australian Rules Football in Malaysia.
The High Commissioner, Penny Williams, was a gracious hostess, as ever. Her speech was music to the ears of football lovers and to those of us who are keen to see our code catch on and thrive here. (Her Excellency has also very happily agreed to host the Draw for the Championships at her residence on August 27).

Warriors Sponsors and Jumper Presentation Night 2009
|

|

|
|
On May 17th the Malaysian Warriors held their annual sponsors and jumper presentation night. As per usual a great night was had by all. The Warriors would like to express their gratitude to all our sponsors.
Platinum Sponsors Adams Racing Team, Lighthouse Financial Solutions and Mastercraft Building were not represented on the night, but their contribution to the Club is not unnoticed nor unappreciated.
Our fourth Platinum Sponsor, Auzcorp was represented by Chairman Haniff Kassim, Kylie Smith (Haniff's PA) and Marketing Executive Michelle Hurba up from Australia. Accompanying the Auzcorp group were Allen and Debbie Cooper from Newman, WA...Allen is CEO of East Pilbara Shire, the biggest in Australia. Auzcorp also sponsor the Newman AFL team....and are major sponsors of the West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Dockers!!!
Loscam was represented by Mr Chin Wee Hoong, Senior Sales Executive.
Our hostess at Finnegans, Melissa Chong (Marketing Executive) again represented the Warriors favoured drinking spot!
It was great to see Scott Venes and he took the stand for Quantum Sails.
Ashley Luff, recently appointed MD replacing Steve Lewis, and Reuben (Operations Manager) represented Santa Fe on the night. Ashley would be well known to Bintangs supporters in Jakarta as was based there for a few years in the '90s
Bluescope Steel who have supported our Auskick programme was represented by Valerine Lee (Senior Market Communication Executive).
Last, but not least: In Good Company Australia. Past Coach and INGC MD Geoff Blethyn was happily in town for the event.
A great sidelight was Greg Catterall displaying the recently won Auskick Trophy and challenging the senior Warriors to bring back the Manila Cup.
A big year ahead, so Fire Up, Warriors!
